A FEW SURVIVORS...
These are just a few of the sunflowers that the kids and I planted...I was sooo proud to start them from seeds...and then transplant them in the pouring down rain...laughing like a kid...all of us did. They were over 12 in. when the skunks came...and day after day ...right down the row they worked...until we had only about 3 or 4 left. I am glad I got to see some of them. I had planned to have a hedge of them on the side of the house...Esther went to see them today and was SOOO excited..as was I. Oh well...better luck next time:)

Sunflower seeds are cheap.. plant 5x more next year!
I had a bag of sunflower birdseed [now that is really cheap stuff] that I gave to Charlie one year- He grew a field of sunflowers and had seed left over.
