FOTO FRIDAY....."BERRIES"

This weeks Foto Friday challenge was "Berries". I used whatever berries I had on hand to capture my photo. The first one is a cherry pie. Isaac asked me to make him one...and I happened to oblige him. A cherry is a berry...isn't it? Well...close enough.
I believe this is called a burning bush...it is green all summer long...and then turns fiery red in the fall. It yields these little orange berries....A pretty bush...with pretty berries:)
My thought was to put these berries in my hand and have the berries be bright red....I could not do that without part of my hand being in color too. Do you know how to do that Rebecca? Since it did not work...I just left it black and white...
A different bush...I dont know what kind...but I remember as a kid lighting the little berries on fire and hearing them make a LOUD pop. (no comments mother.) I have the urge to do this every time I see these berries...and I think I will before they are gone. (I do not promote playing with matches.)
This Foto Friday was hosted by my friend Rebecca at http://zeahrenaissance.blogspot.com Join us for this next weeks challenge. Just click on her link and find out what the next challenge is......Have FUN with us!Posted by Picasa

I loved the colors of the second photo down! So bright and vibrant! Can I come have some pie :) It reminded me of Bob's cherry cheesecake he makes once in a blue moon!

I love your choices .. colors are my favorite. Your burning bush is far ahead of mine. I will make no comment about matches and hedge berries.. what I don't know won't stress me out..hehehe

I think the black and white looks great, and you did a great job focusing on the brightness of the berries in the last photo; they really pop against the blurred background. That is hard to do!

BEAUTIFUL pictures!! Have you tried using Picasa to make them pop with color?? It is free to use. And now I am craving cherry pie. :) You need to take a picture of the final pie too. Maybe even one of the kids eating it! :D WONDERFUL pictures! LOVE this pinks in it!!

Aren't you the best mother ever? To make pie per request, just because you love him! I needs some learnin' from you!

I love burning bushes and always admire them from afar, but I never knew they had berries! Orange ones at that. The combo is gorgeous!

As for the third one down...unless you have an expensive program like Photo Shop, you can't color just an object (like the berries in your hand.) Trust me, I've tried. It has to be circular or in a picture that you can't notice too awful well. I feel your pain!

PS. The berry popping story is too funny. PLaying in mud, lighting berries on fire....I am learning all SORTS of things about you! :-)

Wow, I love the pictures of the burning bush! Thank you so very much for sharing those things of hoome! You have no idea how precious they are to me or how much I enjoy seeing them. Don't get me wrong, we are truly surrounded by God's amazing beauty here in the interior of Alaska!! I just sometimes need to be reminded to close my eyes a minute and look again at the beauty that surrounds me daily. Not just in beauty of God's creation outdoors but in the handsome faces of my family as well. Thank you for reminding me!!

P.S. I love the idea of "popping" the berries! Ok so with a house full of males we oftentimes amuse ourselves with "interesting" activities. Nothing truly dangerous, just not as gentile as I might sometimes like. But hey, they are boys!
